When a Softness Comes
When a Softness Comes
Life is hard. I go over the dune and the sand yields under my feet. It’s soft. The waves curl around my bare feet. I’m walking. I know life is hard. It’s also soft and gentle. Don’t forget, every wave seems to say. Don’t forget. Both are here …
… Sometimes in the midst of hard, you have to look for the softness. Pile the moments around you like a blanket. Be conscious of amassing it. But sometimes a softness just arrives like a gift. A ladybug lands on the back of my hand. A dolphin leaps out of the wave. A perfect moon shell rolls at my feet. The beach is full of gifts, soft cushions in a hard world.
