My absence in this space has been the result of a self-moratorium on spinning my wheels. It was way overdue.

I made a list, (using an actual pencil and piece of paper) of the things I’ve neglected, the things on my ‘to-do’ list, the things I wanted to achieve in the short term, and oddly enough, not one of those things involved blogging, logging on to the www or scrolling through the facebook feed…
I found I needed to put some space between me and distractions. I needed some breathing room… so I’ve taken to reading ACTUAL books…those things that have hard covers and pages that need turning.
I’m walking 5 miles a day whether I need it or not.
I’m using the phone to actually make Calls to those whose voices I haven’t heard in much too long.
I’m exploring and taking snapshots and getting out in nature more.
So far, so good.

Happy First day of Autumn, Y’all. 🙂 Don’t forget to take care of you, first and foremost….the rest can wait.
Doober xo

“Maybe this is why we read, and why in moments of darkness we return to books: to find words for what we already know.”
― Alberto Manguel, A Reading Diary: A Passionate Reader’s Reflections on a Year of Books

  1. That sounds like you have learned to stop & smell the roses, in a manner of speaking. I always feel better when I have time for nature & I always have time to read BobbieZen. Keep on enjoying less technology.

  2. BobbieZen, you taking care of the most important thing, which is YOU! 😀

As for me, now that summer is over, I am back at school. It takes most of my time & energy but It’s worth it 😎

Also, Imma echo what Di Cleverly said 🙂 .

  3. I so admire you for this. It sounds wonderful, a great way to re-center and fill up your creative reserves. You’re an inspiration! I miss seeing you in the stream, but I’m sure our paths will cross again eventually 😉 squints at the blurred signpost

  4. I find it difficult to imagine forgetting such seemingly important matters when considering your last name, BobbieZen. One would think it a constant reminder. 😉 Glad to hear you’re getting the junk together and prioritized. Just finished The People’s History of the United States, by Howard Zinn. Light, summer reading.
