When SuperDave was just a little guy, first or second grade, he had a teacher at school who would celebrate whenever one of the children got a pair of brand new shoes. The proud owner of the new shoes would get to parade up and down the isles of the classroom while their classmates sang the new shoes song to them. “He’s got new shoes, dressy dressy new shoes, he’s got new shoes…. new shoes!!!”

Poor little SuperDave always felt bad that he never got to do the new shoes stroll, because thanks to having two older brothers his shoes were usually hand me downs.

He ordered these shoes (on sale, naturally) from Cabela’s and they came in the mail yesterday. Just before he left for work this morning, he paraded around the room and sang his own song.

“I’ve got new shoes, dressy dressy new shoes, I’ve got new shoes…. new shoes!!!”

I gotta tell ya, it’s hard to have a bad day when a 6’4″, size 14 D wearing happy dude is prancing around singing about his new shoes. 😀

I’m 6′ 4.5″ tall, and I wear size 15D, but I don’t get my size here, and have to order them from Amazon, and request visiting friends to carry them for me from the US (direct shipment to India would attract customs duty, hence the landed price would be quite expensive)! 🙂

  2. The next time Amazon brings you a new pair of shoes you must sing the song, Jasbir S. Randhawa !

Yep we understand about sizes being difficult to find… we both have issues with pant lengths, and typically have to special order.

  3. For sure … Just thinking about the desire of any child for new shoes- so many could not afford such a luxury – and always pining to be the one to march and sing! wow- That made my day a a lot brighter
