A doctor, like anyone else who has to deal with human beings, each of them unique, cannot be a scientist; he is either, like the surgeon, a craftsman, or, like the physician and the psychologist, an artist. This means that in order to be a good doctor a man must also have a good character, that is to say, whatever weaknesses and foibles he may have, he must love his fellow human beings in the concrete and desire their good before his own.

Just left work early, but not before I got this shot of Doc and a longtime patient, undergoing a Cervical Epidural Steroid Injection.
I think it’s a bit easier for you some of you to see in this fashion 🙂

Having fun experimenting with Blurs on my iPhone…Have a great weekend, Geeps!

  1. Wow. And I’d love to see this in focus. I’ve had the lower back injections and I made the doc tell me jokes. And I have to say that on first reading I was trying to work out how even a long time patient let you photograph her cervix! – used to work for OB/GYN in another lifetime and my mind just jumped to cervical biopsies……….And well done.

  2. Fantastic! … I love my pain doc! He’s awesome. Even as he’s jabbing me in the neck in ten spots every 3 months, I enjoy his wit, compassion, intelligence, and humor.

  3. 😉 Not the first time those two words were mistaken! Cathy Custer Donohoue . We’ll have to compare stories some day. I was an O.R. Nurse for many years prior to specializing in Pain Management.

  4. Jen Smith  and Janice Hackney , This Doc is tops as well. He’s the only one in Chicagoland I’d let put a needle near my spine.
It’s good to hear there are other good ones out there taking care of you!

  5. BobbieZen that’s good to know.. Mine up here in Libertyville is the only Dr I go to with any of my problems now, before I will trust going to another Dr. I think I have the only pain Dr in the state who doesn’t believe in just passing out narcotics. He truly tries to heal. He’s blunt, up front, and funny as hell!
