So this one’s gone viral on Facebook… a 7 foot Gator found swimming on Fernandina Beach… and this is why I love the beach BUT, I swim in swimming pools.

  1. lol  Positive Sean Heffernan .  It was on the news a couple days ago.
Incidentally, just a few years ago a 4 footer was caught near my home in Plainfield Illinois, stalking a cat outside someone’s  garage in Suburbia.  You never know…

    Watch your step.
I had a nightmare last week, not one but TWO Gators were chasing me. Jumped up and got me by the leg.  I was in my Flight Attendant uniform walking out by the airport Hyatt in Jax… Dreams are crazy. 🙂

  3. I had a dream that these big black with red lizards about 3 feet long were chasing me and biting at me. it was a really bizarre. my kids were all little and I escaped to the top bed of their bunk bed. I think we must have just missed each other in dreamland, BobbieZen

  4. I swam with the manatees in Crystal River before… amazing creatures.
And I stealthily tiptoed away from a very large Ray who decided to join me the last time I was swimming in St. Augustine.

  5. BobbieZen I didn’t hang around to ask. I got about 3 feet of air off of him, though! They used to be all over the place in Doctor’s Lake I don’t think they are so much anymore. I used to go swimming in the morning in the lake when I worked nights in the late 90’s, and never had any encounters, but I knew they were there!

  6. My experience with gators is limited to “sexing” them and flipping the dead road killed one’s over so the buzzards can get to their bellies. The “sexing” was not intercourse, it was research. IJS.
