Rattle That Lock
Rattle That Lock
Flawless playing, Phenomenal Show, Fantastic Voice…David Gilmour totally Rocked the United Center in Chicago last night…and me, my SuperDave and our daughter Jessie thoroughly enjoyed the show. Loved his new music, and very much appreciated the Pink Floyd tunes he shared…My hubby’s been to see him and Pink Floyd dozens of times…and he says he doesn’t remember a show where David SMILED so much nor played as perfectly. Here’s the review I woke up to find from our 26 year old girl on her Facebook Page. I think it pretty much says it ALL. ❤
So last night was awesome! Gilmour nailed it. My dad was so happy. 🙂
And, I got to see a band I didn’t think I’d get to in this lifetime.
DG might be the only original one (currently) touring but he doesn’t need anyone else lol.
Sounded just like the albums except it was all live.
No lipsync, no recordings. New “artists” ain’t got shit on him ….
Also, even though it was mostly older dudes, the entire place reeked of ganja, I wore my dad’s first Gilmour concert tee, and my dad said I’m officially a hippy. 🙂
I snapped this pic with my cell phone off the screen…the 70 Year-Old Dude has still got it!
Sounds awesome……..great pic

Thanks Carl Noone !
It was the best time the 3 of us could have possibly had together, Sebastián Encina …and Yep, Kimiko Kimikimms . That voice, that talent…he was soooo good. Still just as gorgeous as ever, imho.

DG is one of the few musicians that I will probably cry over if/when he passes before me. Listening to his guitar playing feels like riding a wave.

Do you know what I love most? The jingle that repeats once and another in this song actually is the one the French railways use for announcements. I use it as my SMS tone. David Gilmour explained he fell in love with that jingle as he was waiting for his train at Aix-en-Provence TGV station. He then contacted the producers to see whether he could use it in a song.
Here, the original chime: https://youtu.be/EIMT7JImkHc

The thing about musicians, is that the ones that don’t die young just keep mellowing and getting better. They don’t have to retire because they’re already immersed in their passion.

I just overhead my husband on the phone with his brother….he was telling him that Gilmour played better than he’d ever heard him…and he’s seen him at least a dozen times.
Maybe two dozen. Like a Fine Wine…He’s truly at the top of his game, George Cohn !

That’s awesome! Nothing beats a live show of one of your favs.. We also went to a show last night. But we went up to Milwaukee, to the Turner Ball Room, and saw Ani DiFranco. One of my all time favs. Great time, but the acoustics need some help. And we too, smelled the ganja all around haha.

Hubby had similar complaints about the “echo” from the United Center…those smaller venues like our Rialto are really nice for concerts…Glad you had a good time, and we’ll have to burn our patchouli candles today, Jen Smith ! 😉

BobbieZen the Genesee in Waukegan is pretty bad ass as well. And always Ravinia! … I may have to raid my daughters room for an incense while I’m feeding her cat today. For nostalgic sake, of course… Lol… Happy sunshine Saturday!
