Old Firefighters never forget….

Old Firefighters never forget….

My husband, once the Captain of his local fire department, has to be the most temperate, salt of the earth person I’ve ever met. He was particularly dismayed when the current firefighter who lives down the street from us allowed his fire extinguisher to become buried in the snow. So, he took a shovel down the street and made a path, just in case.

PSA – If you have a fire hydrant located in front of or near your home, keep it cleared this winter of snow and ice….you never know when a buried hydrant might be needed for your neighbors, your family, or your self.

I can think of no more stirring symbol of man’s humanity to man than a fire engine.  ~Kurt Vonnegut

  1. I went from shorts and riding my bike outside to snow and 8 degrees with a frozen lake out back and back up to 45 or 50 by the end of this week, and an inch of rain expected on Thursday.
🙂 this is the reason why I over pack…I have to always be prepared!
