17 days in, and I’m still moving, as encouraged to by my 88 year old Dad, and some buddies on here for #MOVEmber . It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it.
I had to change the seat. Twice.
I had to carve out some time to do just that, instead of sitting on the couch surfing the www.
I had to actually make a plan, and stick to it, and let others around me know so they’d help keep me accountable.

So far, so good. My energy level is UP UP UP. SuperDave actually said yesterday, after following me from room to room seeing the completion (that’s right, I actually FINISHED something) of some projects I’ve been meaning to get to for the longest, and tired from watching me,
He actually said, “SIT DOWN, Woman. Right now I’d like to see the lethargic Bobbie back for a few minutes.”
So I did. I sat down, in the rocking chair, and watched him ride for 30 minutes. 🙂

  1. 🙂  You’re getting it all put back together Korinne M Jackman !  Might I suggest you wait until Black Friday to hop back on that back, and spend Thursday enjoying that family reunion. ❤


  2. Exactly, Eric Muller .  I’ve got my 1987 30 inch television (damn thing won’t die) hooked up to the DVD player, my gamecube nearby, and my bluetooth speaker ready to roll…it’s perfect…and guarantees I’ll keep moving for an extended period of time.


  3. Changed the seat again just last night Brad…I’ll make sure it’s aligned properly tonight.  THANK YOU for the tips. I’ve got a tachometer hooked up and try to keep it at 12-13 mph with brief bursts of increased speed, which is better than I was doing two weeks ago. I’m using a fitness tracker, but it’s older and doesn’t have bluetooth so, been looking at HR monitors and will be purchasing one soon.

  4. Brad Thompson I’ll second the clipless pedals, they take some getting used to but they’re magic. You can feel the benefits pretty much right away.
    The advice on raising the seat is good too.

    While it’s on the trainer it’s really easy to see if the wheels are warped. Not a big deal on a trainer but can be kind of a pain on the road, you can take the wheels to a bike shop to be trued up. (Mine are so bad.) Getting new wheels is a decent upgrade as well if you bike a lot.


  5. Seat raised a good 3 inches…and tilted back a bit, for comfort…I’ll be hitting Sunbaum Bicycles tomorrow for pedal clips and I’m ordering my new HR monitor in just a few.

  6. Brad Thompson I only had problems when I had to come to a quick stop and my mind was busy with things other than taking my feet out of the pedals. So from the outside it would just look like I just spaced out and tipped over. It’s the dumbest looking thing.
