I’m busy at work today filling in for the adult version of this young lady, running between the procedure room taking care of the patients who miss her presence, and my office to deal with my usual clinic day tasks.

Jess was 13 here, 12 years ago….  In an hour, she’ll be signing and initialing multitudes of papers, as she closes on the condo she’s purchasing, with no other help beyond her general tenacity, drive, and common sense.

We thought she couldn’t do it…she proved us wrong.  I’m so proud of my daughter, I can barely contain my excitement.  She’s doing something that I’ve never done on my own, and doing it a decade earlier than I ever did.  She’s overcome obstacles and heartbreaks  in her teen years with amazing maturity and grace, and she’s taught her Mama a lot about not accepting anything less than we deserve.  She’s bold, brave, strong, smart, and beautiful inside and out….and I’m overwhelmed with Joy and Pride watching her step into her new life today.

My work here is done 🙂 ❤
