Dads are important. I don’t think anyone would argue about the impact father figures have on a child’s life. What’s so important about the dad I had the honor of taking a picture with today is that he was one of the first portrayals of a black father with all his strengths and his faults, on American television. Before there was Cliff Huxtable, there was James Evans, and he was magnificent! Strugglin’ and strivin’.
Thank you John Amos for your portrayal of a strong, proud dad on television in a time when so many of us were pimps, butlers or gangsters. #GoodTimes
